Brian Eno Calls On Backing to Get Together for Palestine Track to UK Festive Top Spot.
A charity drive is aiming to send a cultural melody to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort aims to send support to communities in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.
An Opportunity for Unity and an "Surprise Victory"
Musician and artist Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a chance to support Palestinians during the holidays. He noted the potential for an surprise number one.
“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely disappointed if it fails to, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.”
Powerful Theme of Freedom and Dignity
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the adaptation of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's powerful central theme.
“It occupies a very special place for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “It’s basically saying that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we want to live a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”
Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup
The single was laid down after a major charity concert held in late summer. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the piece was shelved during the concert due to the event running long.
The diverse array of artists contributing to Lullaby includes a range of prominent voices from the music world. All participated in the September show, which successfully generated a considerable total for relief efforts.
Creation and Launch
Lullaby was brought to life by a group of music creators. The single showcases a mix of the heritage language with new English lyrics.
The organizers behind the campaign have emphasized that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a dedicated fund. These resources will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.
“There is no a specific target,” a spokesperson explained. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Of course, the more the merrier. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”
The situation in the area was characterized as its extreme devastation, with a overwhelming percentage of infrastructure said to be levelled or seriously harmed.
“Given that reality, a few million is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is above all making this cause better known and proving the human dimension of the story.”
The single 'Lullaby' is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
