Even though embarking on their first-ever continental campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Missing key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a commanding result that virtually secures them a spot in the Conference League playoffs.
A further three points in their next match against Finland's KuPS should be enough to secure straight passage to the last 16, particularly after a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Seize the Opportunity
This match provided a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used players to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning after joining on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a clinical goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second game in succession.
The Shelbourne side that had finished their domestic season proved no match even for a mostly second-string Palace outfit. The Londoners were further weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg problems.
Dominance Established from the Start
Despite torrential rain in Dublin, Palace quickly established dominance. A slick move in the 11th minute, sparked by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, let Nketiah to set up Uche for a straightforward finish.
Midfielder Adam Wharton came close minutes later, fizzing a powerful shot over the bar. Nketiah then appealed for a penalty after racing into the box, but the official dismissed the protests.

The contest was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest several players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still room for development in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, capping an otherwise positive evening for the visiting side.
