Iranian Forces State Assault on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any damage is uncertain and the United States has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - reported they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.
It said debris landed in a residential area in the capital, resulting in some property damage and fatalities.
The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
