Red Bull has revealed a new line-up for the 2026 F1 campaign, elevating Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its main squad and awarding 18-year-old Briton Arvid Lindblad his debut F1 drive.

The young driver, who comes from a mixed Swedish-Indian background, is set to become team-mate to Kiwi driver Liam Lawson at the junior outfit Racing Bulls.

This driver musical chairs means Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda exiting the grid following a five-year stint.

The New British Hope

Lindblad has been tagged as a prodigy by Red Bull since he was 12 years old.

Talking about the company's young driver programme, a key advisor noted last year that Lindblad "looks really promising", commending his "natural quickness".

The team has been working since last year to prepare Lindblad for his likely F1 debut in 2026, featuring runs in Grand Prix practice at the British and Mexican races.

Lindblad stated it was a "proud moment", adding: "Next season represents a big challenge, and I know there's plenty to absorb, but I'm eager to work closely with the team and rise to it. I am incredibly excited to get started."

Lindblad has taken a couple of victories in F2 so far this season and is P6 in the standings ahead of the season finale in Abu Dhabi.

A Major Opportunity for Hadjar

The Frenchman's debut season began in difficult fashion when he spun out during the warm-up lap of the first Australian Grand Prix. However, from that point, he has been one of the most impressive rookies this season.

His performances featured an remarkable top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he lies 10th in the drivers' standings.

A senior team figure said: "Isack has shown great maturity and proved to be a fast adapter. Most importantly, he has the innate pace that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can thrive alongside Max."

The promoted driver called it "a fantastic step" and said he felt "prepared".

Lawson Retains His Seat

To partner Lindblad at Racing Bulls, Red Bull have chosen Lawson instead of Tsunoda.

Lawson started 2025 with the main team but was moved back early in the year. He has settled back in at the junior outfit with some strong performances, persuading Red Bull he merits another season.

The Japanese driver, meanwhile, has been ejected after a disappointing season. His highest finish is a sixth place, and he has accumulated a small fraction of the team's constructors' championship.

These announcements confirm that there remains no place on the Red Bull programme for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will continue in F2 for 2026.
