Nearly 55,000 families have reportedly been harmed by the weather, with their items and dwellings damaged.

Persistent storms over the recent period have intensified the already dire living conditions of the many hundreds of thousands of evacuated Palestinians in the region, as stated by humanitarian agencies.

"Terrible" Conditions Poses Serious Threats

A official described the previous night's conditions as "terrible", with rain so intense that up to 15cm (6in) of water accumulated on the ground.

"Last night was really terrible for the people. The storms were so powerful... And the gusts were so strong," stated the spokesperson.

Officials express grave anxiety that minors living in makeshift shelters in wet attire will contract hypothermia and various illnesses.

Casualties and Widespread Destruction

Health authorities have confirmed that one baby has succumbed from exposure and at least 11 other people have lost their lives in building collapses caused by the severe weather.

Further statements put a increased fatality count. Authorities said that multiple structures had collapsed completely and dozens had sustained partial collapse.

  • Roughly 55,000 families affected by the weather.
  • More than 40 designated safe spaces inundated.
  • Countless residents required to move once more.

Assistance Efforts Deemed Inadequate

Organizations have escalated distribution of tents, blankets and garments following the truce started, but they have said there is still not enough aid getting in.

"We are operating tirelessly to deliver that relief and to allocate it, but the scale of the requirements is so vast that we are faced with many thousands of people and minors who are genuinely struggling nightly," warned one spokesperson.

Future Challenges and Ceasefire Provisions

The subsequent part of the truce involves proposals for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with post-war governance, the removal of personnel, and other provisions.

Relief organizations have underscored the imperative for "greater and continuous relief to meet urgent and ongoing requirements."

The war was initiated by an assault in October 2023. Subsequent actions have resulted in a substantial number of fatalities in the area, based on health ministry data.
